The Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), located adjacent to the Las Vegas Strip, encompasses approximately 3.2 million square feet with exhibit space of 2 million square feet and meeting space of nearly 250,000 square feet. The facility is one of the busiest centers in the world – centrally located within three miles of over 100,000 guest rooms.

Operated by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), the center is well known for its versatility, size, and amenities. In addition to exhibit and convention space, 144 meeting rooms (more than 241,000 square feet) handle seating capacities ranging from 20 to 2,500. A grand lobby and registration area (more than 225,000 square feet) efficiently link existing exhibit halls with new exhibit and meeting rooms, and allow simultaneous set-up, break-down and exhibiting of multiple events.

Principal Function:

The Specialty Retail Manager is responsible for all aspects of retail merchandising operations. He or she will develop, communicate and implement seasonal and long-term retail business strategies to drive retail sales revenue and meet or exceed the unit's overall financial goals.

The Specialty Retail Manager maximizes sales by ensuring that guests receive an exceptional overall experience and that service expectations are met or exceeded within the retail merchandise outlets.

The Specialty Retail Manager will contribute to Sodexo Live! goal to be #1 in Event Hospitality through the performance of activities geared toward the creation of an energized and positive work environment for merchandise staff.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support and maximize Centerplate's merchandise revenue through implementation and oversight of
    systems and policies related to retail operations.
  • Ensure standards for product presentation are met, create compelling merchandising displays and
    deploy tactics to ensure an exceptional service experience that inspire customers to buy.
  • Provide leadership and direction to merchandise supervisors, clerks and cashiers.
  • Ensure that all work areas are maintained.


  • Bachelors degree, or combination of education and work experience to support on-the-job effectiveness.
  • 2-3 years management experience in a fast-paced retail sales environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively implement written and verbal instructions
  • Strong team orientation and ability to work with a variety of departments to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Ability to work well in a high stress, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations, to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used by guests who typically visit the work location.
  • Technology aptitude for working with POS, digital register, Microsoft Office.
  • Strong skills for persuasive sales, with keen ability to connect easily with customers.
  • Scheduling flexibility to meet operational needs. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holiday.
